The major aim of the WRTC is to provide inputs for in-situ and ex-situ conservation programme and health initiatives being presented to any population benefit consideration as well as issue relating to the viability and sustainability of services provided and preparation of database on diagnostic methods and healthcare. The objective is to undertake training of field vets and State Forest Department officers to have requisite technical competence in management of free ranging and captive wildlife. WRTC is an fully functional entity and the requirement of dedicated staff has been fulfilled partially coupled with blend of experienced staff from the Nagpur Veterinary College additionally.
